Tenuta Magrini, Monferrato, Piedmont

Starting something from scratch takes a particular kind of courage. Massimiliano and Maura know this well: in 2022 they left behind what was familiar and built Tenuta Magrini from the ground up, on an ancient farmhouse estate in the hills of Monferrato, at 350 metres, south-facing, with the quiet determination of people who know exactly why they are doing what they are doing.

The result is a small, precise range built on the native grapes of Monferrato, with Barbera at its heart, a grape that in their hands becomes something deeply territorial and personal. These are wines made with care rather than calculation, and you can taste the difference. Fruit, balance, a sense of place that does not need to announce itself.

Maura is sharp, warm and clear about what they are building. Meeting her at VinNatur, you understand immediately that this is not a project in search of an identity. It already has one.
